Keeping you safe on the job is the University’s number one priority. Employees must be free of ANY symptoms that are potentially related to COVID-19 before returning to campus. Currently, COVID-19 symptoms include one or more of the following:
- shortness of breath or difficulty breathing;
- muscle pain;
- sore throat;
- new loss of taste or smell;
- new GI symptoms;
- trouble breathing;
- persistent pain or pressure in the chest;
- new confusion;
- inability to wake or stay awake; and
- bluish lips or face.
Employees experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 or who may have been exposed to the virus must remain at home, and seek advice and receive clearance from their healthcare provider before reporting to campus. These employees may be eligible to receive federally mandated paid sick leave under The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). Employees reporting to campus may be subject to additional symptom screenings procedures, which may include observation and a temperature check. Employees whose temperature exceeds the established threshold or who exhibit visual symptoms must return home and seek advice and clearance from their healthcare provider before returning.
